Palpitations
‘Palpitations’ is a series of meticulously made glass hearts, which first went on display at the Kabinett Gallery in Boston, U.S.A., for ‘Killers and Thrillers’, the inaugural exhibition of their new space in SoWa.
The hearts are beautifully nested in carefully selected vintage saucers ranging from the 1890s to the 1980s, combining two of my greatest passions: art making and collecting antiques.
It could be argued that love is the ultimate ‘Killer and Thriller’, offering both exhilarating or devastating highs and lows. 'Palpitations’ resonates with the uplifting aspects of love - the display of hearts in fine antique saucers creates a precious and heart warming visual effect.
The show ‘Killers and Thrillers’ presented work by more than 50 artists, and I had the honour of exhibiting alongside Paul Gaucher, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Man Ray, Matthew Barney, John Lennon, Roy Lichtenstein, and Balthus to name but a few.
The hearts are multiple pieces and made to order in the colour of your choice.
